About: Chris Perkins-Cook was born and raised in a village called Bethalto, Illinois. Only 15 minutes from the Mississippi River and an hour and a half from Mark Twain's hometown of Hannibal, MO. Discovering cinema at a young age, Chris and his brother Joel started making their own movies with their moms video camera at around age 10/11. Graduating with a BA in Film/Video at Columbia College in Chicago, Chris has been working professionally in the field ever since.
First working for filmmaker Stuart Meyer in Naperville, Illinois. Together they produced a few feature length films which were selected and screened at various film festivals around the country.
When Joel arrived in Naperville, together they decided to start a movie studio together. Thus, Sage Cinema was born.
Moving to Boulder, Coloardo, Chris and Joel continued to write, direct, edit, and shoot their own movies. Doing freelance on the side, they have been continously producing videos for musicians, artists, and business'es around Colorado.
Chris became the art assistant of Martina Hoffmann in 2016. Together they have produced 2 documentaries and numerous other short films and videos together which features Stanislav Grof, Robert Venosa, Pascal Ferry, Martina Hoffmann, Salvador Dali, H.R. Giger, Albert Hofmann, Terence McKenna, Mati Klarwein, and many other incredible artists. Other than shooting and editing for Martina, Chris also helps manage various social media accounts, takes care of United States shipping for art sales, and is the caretaker of Venosa and Hoffmann's original art in Boulder, Colorado.
A few years back Chris started working for a wildlife non-profit called Wildlife Protection Solutions. After 3 solid years of traveling to Kenya, South Africa, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Florida, and everywhere in Colorado, Chris captured numerous creatures in their natural habitat on 360 cameras.
The last two years Chris has been editing a movie called "Amusemint" which was shot over a period of 12 years when he first bought his Canon 5D during his last year at College. "Amusemint" is an experimental comedy movie that tells a story of a freelance photographer traveling through America while having no money.
